Jerilyn Brusseau, co-founder of PeaceTrees Vietnam, will speak at The Traveler at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 30.
The program will be an up close and personal journey to meet the Vietnamese people, see images of their beautiful country and learn about opportunities to travel there.
PeaceTrees Vietnam was founded on Bainbridge Island and has worked alongside the Vietnamese people for 20 years to reverse the consequences of war. Centered in Quang Tri Province, their efforts have resulted in the removal of over 89,000 land mines and the development of sustainable communities by enhancing educational and economic opportunities.
Brusseau has led 59 Citizen Diplomacy delegations to Vietnam and has established deep and abiding connections.
In her presentation, she will share remarkable stories of healing and trust building and will be joined by Quang Le, the Vietnam-based director of PeaceTrees Vietnam, as well as recent PeaceTrees travelers.
The program is free; no registration is required. Visit www.thetraveler.com for more information.
