Register now for historic tree walk in Winslow

In the 1890s, Bainbridge Island pioneer Robert Cave brought seedlings to Bainbridge Island from the Kew Gardens in England. The trees were planted as part of a landscape idea for the tiny town of Winslow.

In the 1890s, Bainbridge Island pioneer Robert Cave brought seedlings to Bainbridge Island from the Kew Gardens in England. The trees were planted as part of a landscape idea for the tiny town of Winslow.

Five of these trees remain, including a 90-foot red oak, a sycamore and an elm.

Dr. Olaf Ribeiro, plant pathologist and arborist, will lead a walking tour of the historic trees of Winslow on Friday, April 24.
