Bainbridge Arts & Crafts is now taking registrations for Paint Out Winslow 2015, its second annual outdoor painting event, slated to be held Saturday, Aug. 22 and Sunday, Aug. 23 in downtown Winslow.

The event will culminate with a reception and awards ceremony, with a top prize of $500 cash.

At its inaugural event last summer, dozens of Northwest artists of all ages and experience levels set up their easels in Winslow to talk with passersby as they captured the town on paper and canvas.

“Paint Out Winslow creates an energetic and communal painting opportunity for area artists while also bringing them into the public eye,” said BAC director of education Lynnette Sandbloom.

“Artists will come away with new friends, exciting new work and maybe even a little prize money in their pockets,” she said. “Community members and visitors to the island will get a unique opportunity to meet artists in public and chat with them about their work and their creative process.

“This event has become a new highlight for our community,” Sandbloom added.

The cost to participate is $35 per person.
