Variety is the order of the day, or rather the month, throughout September at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts.
Beginning Friday, Sept. 5, the downtown Winslow art gallery will feature three very special primary exhibitions showcasing works done in paint, ceramics and pastels.
First, guests will get a look at “Gretchen Hancock: New York.”
As a painter, Hancock possesses an incredible sense of place. Every landscape, forest, lake, building, and street offers a poignant, powerful snapshot of a location in time.
A special artist reception is scheduled during this month’s Art Walk from 6 to 8 p.m.
Then, things get a little more physical in “Nana Kuo: Ceramics.”
With their serene tones and subtle, intriguing patterns, Kuo’s bowls, platters, vases, and teapots emanate elegance.
Finally, art lovers will be treated to a number of works by several artists working in pastels in “Blurring the Lines: Contemporary Pastels.”
This special exhibit features striking new work from artists who have made their mark in pastel and oil bar including Gillian Bull, Robin Charters, P.C. Harper, Joan Kinsman, Mary McInnis and K. Robinson.
These three shows will run through Tuesday, Sept. 29.
