The chill and the rain kept absolutely nobody away from the 26th annual Bainbridge Island Harvest Fair at Johnson Farm on Sunday, Sept. 29. The island tradition featured food, fun and activities for the whole family including horse-drawn wagon rides, a petting zoo, performances by local musicians and piles of hay bales for kids to climb on.

There were numerous farm-centric demonstrations such as cider pressing, bee keeping and sheep shearing. In addition to many local food vendors, culinary attractions at the fair included the “best pie” contest, the “biggest zucchini” contest, a beer garden and samples of Bainbridge Island Organic Distillery products.

The Harvest Fair is organized by the nonprofit group Friends of the Farms and sponsored by Bainbridge Homes Real Estate, Bainbridge Organic Distillers, Ridell Williams P.S., Island Cool, Bainbridge Gardens, Brown Bear Car Wash, ACE Hardware, The Trust for Public Land, Guy Dunn Accounting and The Clean Center.
