All women are invited to attend Savvy Women Exchanging Relevant Views to hear Jerilyn Brusseau, food consultant and humanitarian, present the program, “Healing Where It Seemed Impossible.”
Brusseau will share her experiences over the past 22 years working to reverse the lingering consequences on all sides of the Vietnam War through building bridges of friendship, understanding and trust.
Brusseau, a restauranteur and food consultant best known as a developer of Cinnabon, worked with her mother Rae Cheney and step-father to build Peace Trees Vietnam as an urgent response to the daily threat of unexploded landmines and bombs in Vietnam.
In 2010, she and her mother received the Medal of Peace and Friendship Among Nations, Vietnam’s highest honor granted foreign citizens for service to its people.
SWERV meets from 10:30 a.m. to noon Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Filipino American Hall, 7566 High School Road.
