Two wanderlust-filled exhibitions are on display this month at Bainbridge Arts & Crafts, beginning with an artists’ reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4.
First, “Sydni Sterling: Voyages,” a solo exhibition of new paintings by Sterling, whose work revels in the riotous gardens and crystalline waters of the Pacific Northwest. These are, in the artist’s words, “beautiful and powerful everyday wonders.”
Also on display, “Celestial Navigations,” a group exhibition of collage, sculpture, and artists’ books that will help you find your way. Featuring work by Sam Garriott Antonacci, Susan Lowdermilk, Catherine Alice Michaelis, Shane Miller, Carl Morgan, Gregg Onewein and Donna Snow.
Snow will also host a special Artist’s Insight Series chat at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5 on the topic of storytelling.
Many of Snow’s mixed-media works tell a visual story, often tongue-in-cheek and sometimes a tiny bit preposterous. Join the artist to hear her tell some of the tales behind her works in the “Celestial Navigations” show.
