Rain! Glorious rain! Nourishment from the heavens for all living things! A cleansing bath of pure droplets cascading upon the land.

Sorry, that’s the best spin we can put on another wet weekend for Bainbridge Island.

The National Weather Service’s Seattle office is predicting that Friday’s wet weather for the island — 80 percent chance of rain through tonight — will continue Saturday with more rain, then scattered showers, and more rain through Sunday.

Here’s the soggy breakdown:

Saturday, rain before 10 a.m., then scattered showers through 10 p.m. The chance of precipitation is 80 percent, and between a quarter inch to a half inch of rain is possible during the day.

The high temp is expected near 50. Winds will be calm; from the southeast between 5 to 8 mph in the morning.

More rain is expected on fun day Sunday, with rain turning to showers before 10 a.m.

The chance of precipitation is 90 percent, with a quarter inch to a half inch of rain.

The thermometer will again threaten to hit 50 degrees, dropping to a low around 41 at night.

There may be blue skies ahead, though.

Monday, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, is expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 49.
