For digital innovator Andew Kissel and his family, moving from one of the largest cities in America to beautiful Bainbridge Island is like coming home.
Leaving the sprawl of Dallas, Texas, Andrew is returning to the Pacific Northwest, where he spent much of his high school years on the Olympic Peninsula.
Andrew is the founder of Hello Digital, a digital studio now based in Bainbridge Island that builds websites and custom business applications, and much, much more.
“Everything I do really got started up here,” Andrew says. “You know, Bill Gates actually donated a computer lab to my high school in Sequim, and that’s when I started my first web design business.”
Andrew’s fascination with technology runs deep, becoming a cryptologist in the U.S. Navy, then studying computer and information science, and going on to work with a number of technology companies in various roles, such as a software developer, operations officer, entrepreneur and director of technology.
As a cryptologist, Andrew had to learn how to simplify and demystify complex reams of information, fast, efficiently and under pressure.
It’s a skill that he has applied to the business world.
