The course at Meadowmeer Golf & Country Club is well known to local golfers – for its inviting, tree-lined fairways and challenging greens as well as for the welcoming team who bring it all together, from the pro shop to the popular Meadowmeer Bar & Grill.
This month, the team at Bainbridge Island’s only semi-public course has some good news: the launch of their new Indoor Golf Center.
Ideal for working on your game, the center features four state-of-the-art, climate-controlled hitting bays, each equipped with Trackman technology, used across the LPGA, PGA and DP World tours.
In a sport where everything from posture to grip can affect your success, being able to highlight areas that may be causing challenges is key.
“The comprehensive shot analysis really helps you break down your swing. It’s a pretty spectacular system,” says Meadowmeer Director of Golf, Mike Landolt.
“Golf can be frustrating if you don’t know what to work on,” Landolt says. “The numbers don’t lie, so the system gives purpose to practice, which is extremely helpful – you can really dial in your swing.”
Of course, the numbers are one thing; interpreting them is another, and that’s where the Meadowmeer team comes in!
Whether you need help to correct a pesky slice, drive farther or improve your short game, the club professionals offer lessons for all ages. Lesson Value Packs and gift cards are available for instruction, along with hourly usage or virtual punch cards valued for 10 hours of simulator time – the perfect gift idea for the budding golfer or die-hard enthusiast!
Beyond improving your skills, the new Trackman system also offers plenty of opportunity to indulge your passion for the sport by joining tournaments around the world, playing legendary courses like Eaglewood, Meadowbrook and Escondido Golf & Lake Club.
Bring the kids and explore the Magic Pond, a fun game for the whole family where you can capture monsters in a fairy tale universe.
“The Indoor Golf Center is fun for all ages,” Landolt says. “Kids can also play Capture the Flag, or just work on their game indoors before moving to the course – the indoor system translates very well to outdoors.”
And that’s good news, no matter the season: “It’s not just for winter months when the weather isn’t ideal for golfing outdoors. It can benefit your game year-round, even in the summer,” Landolt adds, pointing to options like custom club fitting. Using the analysis gained from the indoor system, he can assess your swing and physical characteristics to determine which clubs will maximize both performance and enjoyment of the game.
Get social after the game
While a round of golf is often a test of our individual skills, it’s also inherently social, from chatting with your foursome between holes or sharing the stories over a cold, post-game beverage.
Social opportunities at Meadowmeer Golf & Country Club include men’s and women’s leagues, as well as competition days to test all you’ve learned with the Trackman! And when the last putt is sunk, head to the Meadowmeer Bar & Grill, serving lunch and dinner inside or on the covered, heated deck overlooking the ninth green.
“The Meadowmeer Bar & Grill is open for many sporting events as well,” Landolt says. “It’s a very social environment, so bring your friends!”
And if you’re looking for top-of-the-line gear you won’t have to go far. Meadowmeer is home to a fully stocked pro shop. Featuring clubs from name brands such as Callaway Cleveland and Srixon, as well as a wide variety of apparel and footwear, you’ll be well outfitted to match your improved golf game.
