1 dead in Poulsbo homicide; warrants issued for 2 suspects

Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office detectives have identified two suspects in a murder investigation in Poulsbo’s 3100 block of Lincoln Road NE at 1:30 a.m. Oct. 3.

Arrest warrants have been issued for suspicion of murder in the first degree for Caleb R. Sloan, 29, who is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds with brown hair and hazel eyes; and Aksel J. Strom, 26, who is 6 foot, 185 pounds with brown hair and eyes.

Both should be considered armed and dangerous, per KCSO.

Deputies were dispatched to the scene for a reported gunshot injury early Tuesday morning. They discovered an unresponsive man in a residence. Deputies did CPR until relieved by medics. The victim died at the scene.

Detectives investigated, identifying Sloan and Strom as suspects. It is believed they knew the victim.

The county’s Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 38-year-old Brandon Egeler of Bremerton, with the cause of death being a single gunshot wound to the neck.
