2 die after apparent overdoses in NK parking lot

Two people are dead and another hospitalized after apparent drug overdoses in the parking lot of a Poulsbo market the morning of Jan. 6.

Two women and one man were found unconscious in a car parked at Hilltop 76 in the 26400 block of Highway 3 shortly after 8 a.m, a Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post states.

Deputies responded along with North and Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue and the Poulsbo Fire Department. Narcan was administered to all three. The Narcan helped revive a 39-year-old Poulsbo woman. She was transported to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale and was in critical condition.

A 44-year-old Poulsbo man was briefly revived and transported to St. Michael, where he died. A 34-year-old Federal Way woman died at the scene.

Evidence of fentanyl use was found in the vehicle. Fentanyl and methamphetamine were also found on the dead woman, per KCSO.

Deputies reviewed a surveillance video from the grocery store that showed the car parked in the lot around 6:30 the night before and remained there until the three were spotted and 911 notified.

The cause and manner of the deaths will be determined by the county medical examiner’s office.
