I’m the experienced choice to be a strong voice for South Kitsap and build a thriving county for all to live, work and play. I’m committed to connecting our rural communities, urban centers, nonprofits, government agencies and businesses to craft common-sense, community-driven solutions that address challenges in transportation, economic growth, healthcare, safety, housing and homelessness. I’ve collaborated to Fix Our Ferries and will fight to restore full service to Southworth and Bremerton. I’ve championed connected streets and trails that provide safe travel for all. Permit streamlining and sufficient staffing to support small businesses are vital to our economic future. Expanding access to quality healthcare and funding first responders is critical to our community health. I’ve implemented housing policies that increase supply, lower costs and protect precious greenspace. As president, I engaged experts in innovative continuum-of-care shelter solutions to transition individuals out of homelessness and passed laws to preserve peace in our parks and neighborhoods. Raised by a strong single mother, I value hard work and recognize barriers. My husband and I are proud to raise our son in an inclusive Kitsap. Endorsed by numerous local leaders, I humbly ask for your vote and to join me in Bridging Our Future.

Seven years ago, my wife, Amanda, and I chose South Kitsap as the ideal place to raise our family. Our children—Chase (17), Malcolm (10), Bennett (7), and Zola (4)—attend South Kitsap High School, Olalla Elementary and local daycare. Living here, I’ve witnessed our community’s challenges, immense beauty and potential. My executive and business attorney background has equipped me with the skills to tackle tough problems and implement real change. I am running for county commissioner District 2 because I believe in enhancing healthcare access, supporting local business owners and advocating for working families. I am battle-tested with a record of delivering. I am prepared to address complex issues and deliver practical solutions that benefit everyone. I am committed to improving healthcare accessibility and affordability, creating a thriving environment for businesses, and providing the support working families need to prosper. I aim to unite our community to build a stronger, healthier and more prosperous Kitsap County. I ask for your vote so we can work together to make our community the best it can be for everyone. With your support, we can create a brighter future for our families, our businesses and our community.

After joining The Navy at 18 and getting stationed at Subbase Bangor, I adopted Kitsap County as my forever home. I believe we must begin by protecting the citizens of our county by supporting law enforcement officers. During the pandemic, my wife and I witnessed the indoctrination of children that was occurring in schools and the damage that lockdowns had on our community. We began building relationships with small businesses and our neighbors all around Kitsap to try to regain our sense of community. We met a Republican Party candidate at an event, and subsequently joined the KCRP to assist with the events committee. We also need to address the homelessness problem in a caring manner using proven programs. The government continues to overstep its power with regard to individual property rights. I want to streamline permitting and remove unnecessary regulations that restrict business growth and infringe on private property owners’ rights while building a community that values hard work, individual freedoms, family values and genuine care for our neighbors. My background in the Navy, as a small-business owner, husband and father of three helps me understand the needs of people in our county. I will listen to you.

One species in charge of this planet…us. Use less gas. No. 86 bus and fast ferry to Seattle. We are mere ants on this planet making an unholy mess. What’s more important? Territory or human life? Netanyahu and Putin kill as many humans as possible, they want territory. Trump wants power. He killed only five. Should we release all prisoners who killed less? Mike Pence is a hero. Kitsap supports unneeded bureaucrats costing millions. Thinking globally, act locally. Cooperation, Deadwood in bureaucracy, leave. Part of activist ’family’ all over 80. $ is not an issue. Conservation is.

As your next South Kitsap commissioner, I’m committed to addressing vital issues like public safety, economic development, housing and streamlining county government. Crime and homelessness must be a priority. I will support our sheriff, police and courts to combat rising crime rates, ensuring our neighborhoods remain safe. Mental health resources are crucial for our community’s well-being and a priority to assist with homelessness. As a small-business owner and veteran with global experience, born and raised here in Kitsap, I know firsthand the challenges faced by our families and employers. With tested leadership and a collaborative approach, I’m poised to make tough decisions for our children’s future. Our quality of life and environmental assets must and can be protected, which will require strong leadership and collaboration with our business, development, environmental and tribal communities. With your trust, I humbly ask for your vote to serve as your next Kitsap County commissioner. Together, let’s create a safer, more prosperous and balanced community where everyone thrives.

I have devoted my career to advocating for Kitsap County residents. With over 30 years experience in developing social programs and mental health services, conducting community needs assessments, managing projects and ensuring fiscal responsibility, I have the experience to effectively lead our county government. As your commissioner, I will focus on expanding housing inventory, completing supportive housing projects, creating innovative land use policies, increasing behavioral health access, supporting education and maintaining a clean environment. In my current role, I manage 45 employees and an $8 million budget. I have a record of solving local problems and will bring that experience to the office of county commissioner on day one. Kitsap County has been my home for over 50 years. I was the first in my family to graduate college and am a proud daughter, mother and grandmother married to a retired veteran. I understand the needs of Kitsap residents, and have the experience and community-oriented values that will guide me in making meaningful and timely decisions for our county. I am proudly endorsed by retiring Commissioner Charlotte Garrido and many members of our community. Learn more at smith4kitsap.com. I would be honored to serve you and ask for your vote.
