2:40 a.m. Police stopped an 18-year-old Bainbridge woman after an officer on Highway 305 saw the woman’s truck repeatedly drive onto the double yellow dividing line while heading south on the highway.
The woman smelled of alcohol and her speech was slurred. When she was asked how much she had to drink, she replied, “What do you want the answer to be?”
She then said, “Enough to come from Port Orchard to here and drop off all of my friends safely.”
The woman failed roadside sobriety tests and would not agree to a breath test. She was taken to the police station where a breath test produced results of .082 and .081. She was booked for DUI at Kitsap County Jail.
11:14 p.m. A 28-year-old Bainbridge man was arrested for DUI at the scene of a collision on Koura Road.
Responding police found a Toyota in the ditch on the side of the road and a BMW in the westbound lane of Koura Road. The front end of the BMW had significant damage and debris was strewn all over the road.
The driver of the BMW was found near the vehicle talking on his cell phone.
Police determined the man had come down the hill on Koura at a high rate of speed and collided with the back of the Toyota. The driver of the BMW said he had been drinking. He failed roadside sobriety tests and refused to give a breath sample.
He was arrested and later breath tests had results of .177 and .170. The man was cited for DUI and taken to Kitsap County Jail. Police later learned he had been arrested for DUI twice in Colorado.
