Tuesday, Aug. 19

2:08 p.m. During the Visconsi development protest, a man drove up to the protest site, parked his car between the gates leading to ProBuild and walked into the woods where a crowd had gathered.

At some point the man attempted to take a camera away from one of the protestors.

Someone nearby took video footage of the exchange with his phone.

The two people who had apparently been assaulted in the video, however, refused to speak with police without a lawyer. They also repeatedly asked if they were going to be detained or if they were free to go.

Wednesday, Aug. 20

3:58 p.m. A man returned to his Subaru after working out at a nearby gym to find that someone had broken the plastic frame off his rearview mirror.

The missing piece was nowhere to be found, nor was there any evidence of a collision.

Friday, Aug. 22

11:23 a.m. An unlocked bike was taken from the BIKE Barn at Bainbridge Island next to the ferry terminal.

4:06 p.m. A couple were picking blackberries when they came across a purse and an open package thrown in the bushes between Bainbridge High School and Commodore Options School.

The purse contained a Washington driver’s license and credit cards in the same name. The package contained a book addressed to a different person who lives nearby where the items were found.

Police found that the purse had been taken from a vehicle while it was parked at the Masonic Lodge. Officers also visited the home listed on the package and found several more packages piled on the doorstep.

The resident told police that the parcel belonged to him, but no other items were missing from his home.
