Tuesday. Oct. 30

8:56 a.m. A man living on Harborview Drive said his bank account was used to make a fraudulent purchase for $77.94 at an online dating service for senior citizens. His bank voided the charges.

11:48 a.m. A man reported that he was assaulted on Rockaway Beach Road by his brother-in-law while dividing the estate of their deceased mother. The man said he intervened when the brother-in-law began swearing at his wife and pushing her around. He said his brother-in-law then tackled him and punched him, and broke his glasses.

The brother-in-law’s version of events was similar, but placed the other man as the instigator of the violence. He said he never attacked the man, but said he tried to get away after he was pushed around.

The wife said that both brothers were equally combative and they have never gotten along during the 30 years she’s been married to her husband.

Police determined that both men were aggressors and forwarded a report to prosecutors for review.

Wednesday, Oct. 31

11 p.m. Three young girls were walking in the area near  Rotary Park when a stranger pulled up near them in a van. He said, “I’m not trying to be creepy, do you want candy?” The girls said the man kept saying that he was not trying to be creepy and that he would even leave the candy on the ground for them. Feeling uncomfortable with the situation, the girls ran home.

Thursday, Nov. 1

9:48 p.m. A pumpkin on Manitou Beach Drive was smashed. The smashed pumpkin had “Obama” carved into it and was placed next to a pumpkin that said “2012.”

Friday, Nov. 2

4:17 a.m. Police responded to a domestic disturbance on Wallace Way. A woman was preventing her boyfriend in a wheelchair from leaving an argument and going home to an apartment two doors away. Both were intoxicated and admitted to drinking that day. Both agreed to go to their respective apartments for the night.

10:33 p.m. A deer ran in front of a car on Highway 305. The car was unable to stop and avoid the deer and was damaged when it struck the animal.
