Bainbridge blotter | Boomerang Buick

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

FRIDAY, FEB. 16

12:51 p.m. An 80-year-old Bainbridge man reported a stolen car.

Someone took his 1994 Buick Sportswagon without permission, he said, and took it joyriding before it was brought back to his home and parked in the same spot.

The man said he had gone to Rite Aid on Valentine’s Day and had noticed the engine of the Buick was running rough. On closer inspection, he also discovered dents on the passenger side doors.

The man told police that he always leaves his keys in the car.

3:39 p.m. A 39-year-old Bainbridge woman called police to say she was being harassed by a 43-year-old Bainbridge man.

The man had been a former employee, but the woman said he would not stop calling and texting her.

She blocked his number, but called police after she arrived home and found the man there, who had parked his car outside her house.

He tried to talk to her but she told him to leave and that she was calling police.

An officer contacted the man, who said he was trying to talk to the woman about his job.

He was advised to leave her alone or police would get involved again.
