Bainbridge blotter | Boots made for walking – right out of the store

SATURDAY, MARCH 3

9:31 a.m. Police responded to a reported theft at a store in Rolling Bay.

Two women entered the store the night before, employees said, and stole a pair of boots worth $109.65.

Video surveillance showed the two women working together to conceal and steal and the boots. A store representative said the women had been visiting the store frequently in the past two weeks, though none of the employees knew them.

MONDAY, MARCH 5

12:19 p.m. The owner of a downtown Winslow toy shop reported a theft.

Two unknown people, a man and woman, walked through the store, picking up various this and putting them back. Eventually, the man left and the woman came to the register with some merchandise.

As that was being totaled, the woman said she had to get something from her car, left and never came back. A review of store surveillance video showed the couple stealing at least two items.
