MONDAY, JULY 11

1:54 p.m. Police responded to a reported domestic assault in progress.

Officers found a man, 30, and woman, 29, arguing upon arrival. Both said that they were fighting but that no physical confrontation had occurred. No injuries were visible, but police noticed that both had dried blood at injection points on their necks and “extensive” track marks.

Both the man and woman admitted to having heroin addictions, and police noticed several used needles and “pop” blood spatter on the ceiling and walls. The couple said they were in the process of moving out and were arguing because they could not find the woman’s phone.

They admitted that they used heroin the night before and also indicated that alcohol and meth were a factor in the dispute. They said they share about a gram of heroin a day — a street value of about $125 — and neither were employed.

The woman was discovered to have three misdemeanor warrants for her arrest, one from Bainbridge Island and another from Poulsbo. She was arrested and transported to Kitsap County jail.
