Wednesday, July 11

6:31 p.m. The kiosk at Waterfront Park was vandalized. The windows to the kiosk were left open overnight and pamphlets were thrown around the area. The shelves were also disturbed. Nothing appeared to be stolen.

A light near the kiosk was also damaged and a bulb was broken.

Thursday, July 12

2:54 p.m. A woman living on Bergman Road reported an incident of trespassing to police.

The woman’s home is in foreclosure. She was speaking with her real estate agent when another real estate agent drove up with two male clients. She told the broker that in the three years the home was on the market, not one agent showed up without calling first. She also said the home was recently taken off the market and it was scheduled to go to auction the next day.

Her real estate agent spoke with the broker. The agent said that the broker would follow her out of the driveway and leave. But when the agent had left, the broker returned. One of the men insisted upon coming into her home. They appeared to be bullying her and asking if she was packed. They continued to insist that they enter her home, but she refused to let them. They laughed at her before finally leaving.

Police told the woman that an attorney could advise her of her rights in the situation.

Police contacted the real estate broker. He told them that his clients were investors and wanted to ask if the woman still lived in the home and assess the value of the property.

Friday, July 13

10:44 a.m. Police pulled a car over on Wardwell Road. The vehicle had expired tabs. The driver was also found to have a suspended license. She was given a court date and a citation. Her husband came to the location to drive the car home.

4:51 p.m. Police pulled over a man for driving 50 mph in a 40 mph zone on Fletcher Bay Road. The driver had a suspended license for an unpaid ticket. The driver was given a new court date.

Saturday, July 14

5:52 a.m. Police responded to a report of assault involving two men living on a boat in Eagle Harbor.

The owner of the boat told police that he did not want the other man living there any longer. He also told them that the other man tried to choke him to death, but he was able to break away. Bainbridge Island Fire Department medics cleared the boat owner and could not find any signs of strangulation.

Police attempted to speak with the other man living on the boat, but he was passed out. The boat owner told police that the man was “drunker than a skunk.”

Police provided the boat owner with a case number and information on the eviction process.

Sunday, July 15

8:57 p.m. A business owner placed 10 sandwich-style signs for his business along various island roadways. The signs were for his home business. When he went to retrieve the signs, they were all missing, including a sign attached to a chain fixed to a rod in the ground to prevent its theft. The signs cost $100.
