FRIDAY, JULY 21
10:53 p.m. A 19-year-old Bainbridge Island man called the police, hoping to stifle an increasingly heated argument between his parents.
Police came to the home and spoke with the young man, who said his parents were in the early stages of a divorce and that his father had moved out a short time ago. He had, he said, decided to live with his father, and was helping him move into a new place.
Earlier that day, his father had bought a sofa and they were in the process of moving it into the new home when his mother showed up and his parents instantly began arguing. The man said his mother was upset and doing most of the yelling.
Though the fight had not been physical, the man said his parents usually argue for long periods of time and tend to escalate as they go. He’d “hoped to avoid this,” he said, by calling the police.
A report was made.
