Thursday, April 18

11:59 a.m. Safeway employees reported that a man had stolen two bottles of Ciroc vodka and three bottles of Remy Martin cognac, totaling $185 before taxes.

Friday, April 19

1:44 p.m. A park employee turned in a leaf blower and pressure washer that were found at Yeomalt Park.

2:22 p.m. A man found keys on Blakely Avenue and Fort Ward Hill Road near Blakely Park. He turned them into the police station.

Saturday, April 20

11:36 p.m. A woman reported that someone stole her purse while it was in her cart inside Safeway on April 8. She said that she didn’t know who took it, but was suspicious of a man she knew. The man came and asked her to buy him food, and she thought it was suspicious, though she did not see him take the purse. The total value to items stolen was $345 including the purse, ID, medical cards, makeup, credit cards and a cell phone.

Sunday, April 21

1:25 a.m. A couple living near the ferry terminal called 911 after a physical assault stemming from an argument. According to the girlfriend, the couple went drinking in Poulsbo, then waited an hour in their car to sober up before driving back to the island. The boyfriend rode in the front passenger seat and began yelling, angry that the girlfriend was drunk driving.

He placed his hands around her neck and began to squeeze. The girlfriend feared she would lose consciousness and hit the boyfriend a couple times before he let go. Back at the apartment, the boyfriend became aggressive and yelled for the girlfriend to hit him.

At one point he backed her against a wall, and she hit and kicked him to get away. The boyfriend left and he called 911. The boyfriend admitted to placing his hands around the girlfriend’s neck for about 60 seconds and told police, “It irritated me that she was drinking and driving.”

The boyfriend was arrested for assault.
