THURSDAY, JULY 6
11:13 a.m. A 54-year-old Bainbridge Island man reported a check he’d sent to his son at the college fraternity house where he lived had been cashed illegally.
The man said he’d mailed a check for $1,600 to his son on March 31, which had been cashed on April 12. After having spoken to his son, the man learned the student had never received the check.
Upon conferring with the bank, it was found that the signature on the back of the check was unreadable. The bank is investigating.
