MONDAY, FEB. 3
8:26 a.m. A 46-year-old Bainbridge Island man called police to report his neighbor had once again gone onto his property with his permission and cut vegetation.
Police were familiar with both parties, having investigated two previously identical incidents at the residence.
The man told police his apple tree had been trimmed and vegetation on the far side of his driveway cut.
When asked, his neighbor admitted she’d had the plants cut by her gardeners, saying the tree was on her property. Police reported the tree appeared to be planted on the man’s property but leans over the property line. The other vegetation is “not even close” to the property line.
The woman said she cut the other plants because she thought they were higher than what was allowed by the homeowner’s association rules.
The man had previous put up “No Trespassing” and “Private Property” signs along the property line, all of which had been removed.
Police said the matter would be considered a civil case.
