MONDAY, OCT. 9

6:04 p.m. Police were called to a supposed burglary in progress at a residence on Opal Ridge Lane. All doors and windows were found to be locked, and nobody was found leaving the area of the home.

Police spoke to the homeowner, a 41-year-old Bainbridge Island man, via the surveillance camera intercom system located above the front door. He said he’d seen two men inside the home while watching security footage on his cell phone. It appeared, he told police, the men had hidden in a hallway closet.

Eventually, the other homeowner, a woman, arrived and unlocked the door for police.

Nobody was found inside.
