The unidentified vehicle was going south and veered into the oncoming lane, striking the Subaru on the driver’s side and continuing on. The man said he did not get a good look at the other car, but it did have “square-shaped headlights.”

A couple in the process of finalizing their divorce had an altercation, during which the man said his wife threatened to kill herself with an overdose of pills.
When asked by police, the woman said she was too scared to ever do anything like that, but had taken a muscle relaxer to relieve her back pain, for which she regularly sees a chiropractor.
MONDAY, AUG. 15
5 p.m. Police responded to a call regarding damage done to a roadside fence during a hit-and-run incident on Beach Crest Drive near Hyla Avenue.
The gate had been stood back up and leaned against the portion of fence which remained standing after it was struck by a vehicle.
There was a tire mark on the ground near the post that was damaged, and it seemed as if the vehicle had driven forward into the fence or backed up into it during an attempt to turn.
