8:07 a.m. Damage and graffiti was reported at the ballfields on Weaver Road. Two employees for a contracting company that is doing work in the area found broken glass in the water tank of one of their trucks, footprints in oil all over the top window of the truck and oil smeared over equipment.

Numerous stakes were also pulled out of the ground. The stakes had been planted recently as part of a land survey for the construction site. The cost to redo the survey is expected to be $1,500 and clean-up costs for the equipment will be about $200 in labor.

Obscene and anti-Semitic graffiti was also found nearby. A large phallic symbol was drawn with field chalk in two places. An additional witness said she found a large obscene drawing and comment. She did not wait for police to arrive before she took a stick and rubbed it out.

Shoe prints left at the scene were photographed.

A citizen called to report the uncovered truck bed after a large branch with leaves flew out and lodged under her car. She was forced to pull over and dig the branch out from underneath her vehicle.

The license plate number identified the truck as belonging to a Poulsbo landscaping company.

Thursday, Aug. 28

2:25 p.m. A citizen was defrauded of $8,085 after she received a phone call from a man claiming to be from the IRS.

The person had an accent and told her that she was behind on her taxes. If she did not take immediate action, he said she would be arrested by Washington State Police. The man ordered her to remain on the phone while she went to the bank to withdraw cash and put the money on a re-load Visa card at a Seattle Safeway store.

Throughout the process, the man continued to say she was taking too long and that he did not receive the entire amount of money.
