SATURDAY, AUG. 29

1:15 p.m. A resident on Cherry Avenue said a week’s worth of mail was stolen during the power outage.

The resident said a box of chocolate ordered from Amazon was missing, and so was a book that had reportedly been delivered.

The resident said it was the third time that mail has been stolen from the location.

FRIDAY, AUG. 28

2:34 a.m. Police stopped a swerving BMW 320i on Highway 305 near High School Road.

The driver, a 33-year-old Bainbridge woman, smelled of alcohol and said she had two glasses of wine earlier.

The woman failed roadside sobriety tests and was arrested.

She argued that she was not DUI and wanted to take a breath test; the  test had a result of .147.

The woman began to cry after being arrested and offered to pay $8,000 to avoid going to jail. Subsequent breath tests had readings of .152 and .145.

She was booked into jail and bail was set at $5,000.
