Sunday, Sept. 30

3:29 p.m. Police responded to a verbal domestic disturbance. Neighbors heard a loud argument from within the home and heard someone yell, “Don’t hit me.” A woman then took her kids and left. Police were able to contact her when she returned later that day.

The woman told police that nothing had happened earlier. She said that she called 911 on her husband once before and he got arrested. She also said that it was a “big mess” and that she “is not going to do that again.”

While the woman claimed not to know where her husband was, one of her children volunteered that their dad was inside. The woman went inside and returned to tell officers that her husband did not want to speak with them.

With neither party willing to cooperate with police, they left a domestic violence information packet and left the scene.

Monday, Oct. 1

9:26 a.m. A home on Henderson Road was burglarized. Jewelry and $30 was stolen. The resident told police that the doors were left unlocked when they left the home.

2:46 p.m. A resident on Ellingsen Road told police that credit cards were stolen from his gym bag and then used to make fraudulent purchases.

4:08 p.m. A woman in the process of a divorce reported that her husband was repeatedly violating a protection order. The husband was allowed to make contact through email for business reasons only. But he has been texting and emailing often for personal and emotional reasons. He also has shown up twice at island locations where the wife was and wanted to talk about their relationship.

9:32 p.m. Police found a woman asleep in her car on Madison Avenue. The woman initially didn’t respond to attempts to contact her, but did eventually wake up and speak with police. She was found to have a pipe in her possession used for smoking meth, as well as a small amount of the drug. The woman admitted that she smoked meth and that is why she fell asleep.
