Friday, May 3

8:59 a.m. A resident on Reitan Road reported that two bronze statues of Buddha were stolen from his property. The statues stood 4 feet tall and weighed approximately 30 pounds. They were valued at $2,300 to $2,500 each.

10:02 p.m. A resident of an apartment on Grow Avenue reported that his neighbor was banging on his door, yelling and cussing at him.

The resident only had one previous interaction with the neighbor two days prior, when he asked the neighbor to stop smoking in front of the apartments because the smoke was drifting into his unit.

When police arrived, the neighbor had left.

Saturday, May 4

1:11 a.m. Police observed a speeding driver on Highway 305 who frequently strayed over the fog line, took wide and fast turns, and drove in the wrong lane at times. Police followed the driver to a residence on Lovgreen Road.

The driver smelled of alcohol and was swaying back and forth. He told police that he had consumed more than five beers.

The driver failed roadside sobriety tests and refused to take a portable breath test. He also refused to take a breath test at the police station after he was arrested. The driver was booked into Kitsap County Jail on $2,500 bail.

Sunday, May 5

1:31 a.m. Police discovered that trash had been illegally dumped at a city-owned gravel lot on Miller Road. Multiple trash bags and items such as a broken barbecue were dumped. Police discovered other sites on the lot where trash had also been dumped in the past.
