Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

FRIDAY, JUNE 9

4:51 p.m. A 35-year-old Bainbridge woman reported a male acquaintance had been violating a protection order she had against him several times recently.

She said the man had been driving by her home, honking his horn and screaming obscenities at her, and that the man’s parents picked up their daughter from school without her permission or knowledge and took her to see him, ultimately returning to her home later that day.

Police advised the woman to document each instance of a violation and to seek county assistance with parenting plans, and also to inform the girl’s school about the situation.

They did not immediately speak to the man.

11 p.m. A 44-year-old Bainbridge man hit a deer while driving on Point White Drive.

Police arrived, and found the deer was still alive on the side of the road.

Police dispatched the deer.

After calling the driver, police learned that there had been no injuries and only minor damage to the vehicle during the accident. The man asked if he was allowed to take the deer to the butcher, but police said he was not. When the driver asked about the fate of the deer, police told him it had been put down humanely.

Though he did not ask for a report, police gave the driver a case number for insurance purposes.
