Bainbridge blotter | Sign of damage

SATURDAY, MARCH 11

4:28 p.m. A 47-year-old Kirkland man was with his children at Waterfront Park, when was approached by a stranger about his car having been damaged.

The stranger asked the Kirkland man if he owned a black Hyundai Santa Fe, which he did. There was a “2 Hour Parking” sign lying on the ground near the car, and a series of scratches near the passenger side headlight and a rub mark just above the front left tire.

There were no tire tracks or marks to indicate the sign had been struck by another vehicle or knocked down forcefully.

The damage was documented and public works was alerted to the broken sign.

MONDAY, MARCH 12

12:39 p.m. A Samsung-brand cell phone was found outside Captain Johnston Wilkes Elementary School.

It was brought to the school office, but nobody came to inquire about it. The phone was placed into the police vault.
