Bainbridge blotter | There goes the neighborhood

TUESDAY, JUNE 5

8:37 a.m. An 18-year-old Bainbridge Island man was driving a 2008 BMW X3 west on High School Road when a deer ran into the side of his car.

He was not injured.

THURSDAY, JUNE 7

12:51 p.m. A traffic emphasis was requested for Henderson Road. A concerned resident said, “Henderson has become a back road for many commuters and the speeding has become excessive in the mornings.”

SUNDAY, JUNE 10

3:09 p.m. A 41-year-old Bainbridge Island man driving a 2012 Ford Edge struck the rear passenger side of a 2014 Mazda CX-5, driven by a 16-year-old Bainbridge Island boy.

The man was driving north along Madison Avenue approaching the Wallace Way intersection. The teen was driving south on Madison approaching Wallace Way. He became distracted by a group of his friends outside the car and made a left eastbound on Wallace Way, directly in the path of the man in the Ford, who could not stop in time to keep from colliding with him.
