Bainbridge blotter | Traffic blamed for Highway 305 crash

Selected reports from the Bainbridge Island Police Department blotter.

FRIDAY, JULY 7

10:08 a.m. Two cars collided in the area of Highway 305 and Hidden Cove Road. There were no injuries.

A 2014 Toyota Sienna, driven by a 54-year-old Poulsbo man, had stopped due to heavy traffic ahead and was struck in the rear by a 1992 Ford truck, driven by a 21-year-old Port Angeles man.

The driver of the Ford said “all of a sudden” traffic stopped in front of him and he was unable to slow down in time. He was cited for inattentive driving.

Both cars were driven away.

3:28 p.m. Police were called to investigate a car prowl at Messenger House.

A 53-year-old Hansville woman said somebody had broken in through the front passenger window of her car and stolen her purse. It contained about $60 in cash and a wallet, her driver’s license, Social Security card, a nurse’s license, CPR card and seven credit cards.

The woman did not have any credit card numbers available, but was instructed to call and report them as stolen.
