6:42 a.m. A resident on Pleasant Beach Drive reported to police that he was being harassed via text message by an unknown person. Text messages such as “I miss parts of you,” were being sent to his phone. The unknown person also knew personal information about him.
Police attempted to call the number where the text messages were coming from and got a voicemail of a “seductive sounding woman.” Police left a message for the person to call them.
9:58 a.m. Police responded to the Town and Country Market on Winslow Way where a man was acting strangely. He was shaving in the market’s cafe. The same man was observed the previous day cooking raw meat in the cafe’s microwave. The man had set up camp across two of the cafe’s tables with his personal belongings.
Police attempted to speak with the man, but were unable to understand him. The man gave police a card with his name on it from a homeless outreach center in Seattle. When police attempted to use sign language to ask the man if he wanted to go to the ferry, the man gathered his belongings and left.
