Candidates for the Bainbridge Island City Council have raised more than $67,000 this election year, according to reports on file with the Washington State Public Disclosure Commission, the state agency that serves as a watchdog on campaign financing.
According to the PDC, the five candidates who are fully reporting contributions and expenditures (those candidates who expect to raise and spend more than $5,000) have received a total of $67,141.49 in donations.
So far, those same candidates have spent a total of $42,860.41 on their campaigns.
The five candidates who are reporting their total donations and expenditures are:
• Kirsten Hytopoulos, District 1, at-large;
• Anthony Oddo, District 1, at-large;
• Kol Medina, District 2, North Ward;
• Kevin Fetterly, District 2, North Ward; and
• Michael Pollock, District 6, Central Ward.
Oddo is leading in campaign donations and expenditures.
According to reports on file with the PDC, Oddo has raised $22,205 and spent $21,129.
Hytopoulos, his opponent in the at-large Bainbridge council race, has raised $11,415 and spent $9,309.
Medina, the incumbent councilman in the District 2, North Ward seat, has the second-highest amount of donations at $16,134, but has spent $2,742.
Fetterly, who is challenging Medina in the North Ward, is third among this year’s top fundraisers. He has raised $12,866 for his race, according to the PDC. Fetterly has spent $6,542.
Pollock has raised $4,520 in contributions in his race against incumbent Councilwoman Sarah Blossom. He has spent $1,460.
The three candidates in the District 4, Central Ward race — incumbent Councilwoman Leslie A. Schneider, challenger Grayson William Wildsmith and write-in candidate Cynthia Bellas — have not reported contributions or expenditures to the PDC, as those candidates do not expect to raise or spend more than $5,000.
