The Bainbridge Island City Council has approved the 2015-2016 budget, which plans for $42.5 million in expenditures for 2015.
The two-year financial plan considers projects and staffing adjustments that fall under a variety of funds including the city’s street, civic improvement, affordable housing and building funds, as well as its general fund.
Under the newly-approved budget, citizens can expect a range projects in the next year.
The city’s public works department will complete improvements to Wing Point way and the design and permitting process for the Waterfront Park and public dock remodel.
Work will continue at the planning department to pass a tree and landscaping ordinance, shoreline monitoring program and Bainbridge Island Comprehensive Plan update.
Out of the $42.5 million in expenditures for 2015, $18 million will be allocated to the city’s general fund, which pays for basic services such as police, planning and administration.
