The Bainbridge Island City Council will consider changing the day it meets each week from Wednesday to Monday.
The city council will consider amending the Bainbridge municipal code at its Feb. 12 meeting to move regular meetings to Monday evenings.
Councilman Val Tollefson presented the idea at a January session to move the meeting day, after Tollefson said he realized that changing it to Monday would give city staff more time to perform their duties efficiently.
The topic was recently discussed at a special council retreat, with council members favoring a move to Monday or Tuesday.
If the ordinance is passed, the change would be effective March 1.
The city council will discuss changing the meeting schedule during the consent agenda portion of next week’s regular business meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12.
