The Bainbridge Island City Council will conduct a public hearing Wednesday, Nov. 13 on the recent ordinance for marijuana businesses.

The hearing will be part of the council’s regular business meeting that week which begins at 7 p.m.

The Bainbridge council is in the process of establishing a moratorium on marijuana growing and adopting interim regulations for marijuana processing, retailing and collective gardens.

A public hearing will give citizens the opportunity to submit a written or oral comment on the ordinance.

Washington voters approved Initiative 502, the legalization of the  recreational use of marijuana, in last November’s election.
