Bainbridge Island briefs

Rummage sale

On July 6, it often seems like almost the entire island will gather at Woodward Middle School for a massive auction and rummage sale, hosted by the Bainbridge Island Rotary Club.

The Rotary spends a few days collecting donated items, then tests, cleans and prices everything for a benefit sale the weekend after the 4th of July.

Proceeds go back to the BI community in the form of scholarships, grants and fiscal donations.

New valuations

Change in value notices have been sent to 23,389 residential and commercial property owners in Kitsap County, the assessor’s office announced June 21.

Sales trend information is available on the assessor’s website, along with property tax exemption programs.

The assessor is required by state law to appraise property at 100% of market value. That information is used to calculate property tax obligations.

Office staff can answer questions at 360-337-7160 or assessor@kitsap.gov
