The Bainbridge Island Historical Museum recently announced the 2015 officers of the museum’s board of directors.
Karen Beierle was elected to replace Karen Wilson as president and Everett DuBois will follow Tom Thatcher as vice president.
Carolyn Hart will continue as treasurer and Bernie Baker as secretary.
At the Feb. 21 annual meeting, the museum unveiled its new website, which boasts a wealth of historical information Islanders will find fascinating.
Easily accessed is information about current events and exhibits, and dozens of historical photos under “Virtual Exhibits.” The “research” heading leads to lists of Island families and individuals with biographical files in the museum library, as well as lists of available subject files. There are links to many historical resources both locally and nationally.

The historical museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The research library has been recently remodeled and is open to the public to explore its many photos, books and files.
Museum curator Rick Chandler has installed the popular Ansel Adams exhibit “A Portrait of Manzanar” in the lobby of Bainbridge Performing Arts for the month of March. It is displayed with other artifacts and memorabilia from the movie “Snow Falling on Cedars” during the BPA play version of the highly acclaimed book written by Island author David Guterson.
