The Bainbridge Island Police Department has launched a new application called CrimeReports, which allows the public to access and browse information about island crime online.
Community members can download the CrimeReports app to their Android or Apple mobile devices or visit www.crimereports.com and enter an address or search for the 98110 zip code to observe area reports and trends.
The CrimeReports map, which is also available through the police page on the city’s website, reflects real-time, up-to-date crime information. The application is already in use by the Kitsap County Sheriff Department.
“We’re very excited to utilize this free service to provide increased access to crime information to community members,” said Police Chief Matthew Hamner. “This service helps the police department work more closely and more effectively with the community by sharing crime information.”
