An alleged “up-skirt” photographer was arrested by Bainbridge Island police after the 32-year-old Bainbridge Island man was reportedly taking photographs up the dresses and skirts of young women at a local grocery.

Police received complaints about the man on Feb. 14, and set up a surveillance plan after they identified the suspect.

Detectives watched the suspect as he followed a young woman walking from Safeway to a nearby pharmacy March 6.

Once inside the pharmacy, a detective saw the suspect take an up-skirt photo/video of the teenage girl female using his smartphone.

The suspect was quickly arrested when leaving the store after a brief struggle with officers.

He subsequently admitted to taking an estimated 50 videos up the skirts or dresses of young women over the last six months on Bainbridge Island.

Angus Andrew Leger was booked into the Kitsap County Jail for voyeurism, resisting arrest third-degree assault.

Initial bail was set at $250,000.  One of the officers involved in the arrest was treated for an injury at a local hospital and released.

It is believed that the victims — who were 15, 17 and 22 — were unaware that they had been photographed.
