The Bainbridge Island School District will host a retirement celebration for Faith Chapel from 1 to 3 p.m. Friday, June 17 in the Bainbridge High School Commons.

Chapel, who has served as superintendent for eight years, will be replaced by associate superintendent Peter Bang-Knudsen. She announced her retirement late last year and is stepping down at the end of the current school year.

The program will feature speakers from the Parent Teacher Organization, Bainbridge Schools Foundation and Bainbridge Island Rotary, as well as a special video presentation.

Cake and punch will be served.
