The annual commencement ceremony for Bainbridge and Eagle Harbor high school graduates is set to begin at 4 p.m. June 11 at BHS Memorial Stadium.
More than 400 seniors are expected to receive diplomas — 375 from BHS and 28 from EHHS.
Eighteen valedictorians are graduating from BHS. They are: Elise Bourmatnov, Madeline Brown, Keon Deng, Nicholas Fountain, Emily Hung, Lucy King, Elana Memke, Eden Michael, Eileen Miller, Everett Moore, Ellen Owen, Benjamin Reeb, Caleb Saks, Lila Schroer, Gillian Shields, Natasha Stragier, Jack Tinker and Camille Townsend.
BHS students will wear gold stoles, and EHHS students will wear silver.
Graduation is a ticketed event. Traffic delays on High School Road and the immediate area are expected. Attendees are encouraged to carpool and arrive early.
A live-streamed ceremony for family, friends and community members will be available at www.bisd303.org/graduation.
Meanwhile, the annual back to school check-in process is open, and the district is asking families to log into their Family Access accounts and complete the registration as soon as possible. The registration data allows BISD to forecast the number of students and to determine staffing needs, class size and building capacity. If a student will not attend BISD this fall, please let BISD know by contacting the school office or email studentrecords@bisd303.org.
Also the last day of school is coming up June 16 for all of those students not graduating. Breakfast will be available, but lunch won’t as buses are on a half-day schedule. Blakely, Ordway, Wilkes and Odyssey K-6 students are dismissed at 10:50 a.m.; BHS, EHHS and Odyssey 7-8 students are dismissed at 11:45 a.m.; Sakai students are dismissed at 11:55 a.m.; and Woodward at noon.
