Approximately a half-inch of rain has fallen on the island west of Highway 305 over the past 48 hours, according to the real-time weather system’s website. Seattle Rain Watch is a project led by Prof. Cliff Mass of the University of Washington’s Department of Atmospheric Sciences.

According to the Seattle office of the National Weather Service, islanders should expect more rain today and Thursday.

Showers and possibly a thunderstorm have been forecast for Wednesday afternoon, and there is a 90 percent chance of precipitation.

Showers are also likely Thursday before 11 a.m., with a 70 percent chance of rain. Thursday is also expected to be partly sunny, with a high near 76.

Friday and Saturday will be mostly clear and sunny, with a high near 79.
