Bainbridge voters get three shots at candidates

Voters will have at least three opportunities to engage the six residents running for the Bainbridge Island City Council in the Nov. 3 general election.

The first candidates’ forum will be held at 7 p.m. Sept. 28 at the Bainbridge High School Commons. The event will be co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce, League of Women Voters of Kitsap County and BITV.

The event’s moderator will be Kim Abell, a member of the League of Women Voters and a former Port Orchard mayor.

The second forum is scheduled for 7 p.m. Oct. 6 at the American Legion Hall. Organizers said Rep. Christine Rolfes will act as moderator of the event, which also will have a question-and-answer format.

The Chamber of Commerce has also invited council candidates to attend its Oct. 21 luncheon at Wing Point.

There, Executive Director Kevin Dwyer said an emphasis will be placed on business- and economic-related issues.
