Bainbridge Island School District announced March 25 the appointment of Jill Anderson as school board director for District 5 following Mark Emerson’s recent resignation.
“We are extremely pleased to have Jill serve with us on the board. Her commitment to our district and schools was evident throughout the interview,” BISD board vice president Evan Saint Clair said. “Her extensive volunteer positions in classrooms, PTOs and district-level committees demonstrate her dedication to our district.”
She graduated from Bainbridge High School and attended the University of Washington. She works in program management for Starbucks Coffee Co.
Saint Clair was impressed with the high caliber of candidates.
Anderson was to be sworn into office following the school board meeting March 27, after press time. She will serve the remainder of Emerson’s term through November. At the April 24 meeting, the directors will vote to select the board’s president and vice president.
