Bainbridge High School is home to a ton of talented shutterbugs.
During the Washington State High School Photography Contest in early May, 95 BHS students entered their work for consideration.
The collective body of work secured the school’s sixth place as a team out of 4,000 entries from 70 schools across the state.
Overall, 39 BHS students received awards. Those same students were recognized at the Spring Arts Festival on May 14 in the library at BHS. Student work was also shown at the Bainbridge Arts & Crafts student show at the end of May.
Additionally, second-place winner (portrait category) and first-place winner Taliesin Black-Brown (abstract category) will both be a part of a traveling show of the top 36 winners in the contest.
The show where their work will be displayed opened June 4 at the Museum Quality Framing Gallery on Westlake Avenue in Seattle.
The show will also be on exhibit at the Seattle Art Museum and the Tacoma Art Museum.
