The 18th annual pancake breakfast, hosted by the Bainbridge Island Volunteer Firefighter Association, will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 11 at the headquarters station on Madison Avenue (8895 Madison Ave.).

In addition to breakfast, there will be firetruck rides and equipment demonstrations.

The cost is $8 for each adult, $6 for those 65 and older.

Children under 5 eat for free.

Last year the event drew more than 1,700 people, and it has become an autumn staple community event on the island.
